Fixed Asset Registers
Replacement values of all existing infrastructure can be determined:
Through a physical inspection of all fixed asset infrastructure types (buildings, roads, sport facilities, boreholes, water storage facilities etc)
Through the calculation of the respective fixed structure elements based on current market related building costs
Condition Assessments:
Condition assessments of fixed assets can be produced irrespective if the type of asset viz (buildings / civil / electrical / mechanical infrastructure)
All assets will be rated to reflect a specific condition
The condition per fixed assets will reflect the maintenance requirements
Depending on the Condition of any one asset type will the following approach be followed:
A maintenance budget will be prepared for fixed infrastructure for a 1;3 & 5 year period for normal planned and unplanned maintenance, OR
A maintenance budget will be prepared for fixed infrastructure that requires repairs, rehabilitation or replacement over a period of 1; 3 & 5 year period. This approach will address previous neglected backlog maintenance; possible new capital works required rehabilitating or replacing portions of the fixed asset
The above approach will benefit clients in short, medium and long term budgetary planning to keep all fixed assets in optimal condition
Annual insurances can be based on the above assessments.
